A Spiritual Walk to Peace

“Her husband Joseph, being a righteous man and unwilling to expose her to public disgrace, planned to dismiss her quietly. But just when he had resolved to do this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife, for the child conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.”  (Matthew 1:19)

Have you ever conceived an idea, that you wanted to acquire, achieve, experience something. You were excited.  Your feelings were up and you were enthused about what could be possible.  You can see this vision in your mind’s eye; now to bring this idea into physicality.    And then this reasoning, thinking voice in the head begins to chip away at the enthusiasm insinuating something is not “practical, rational, possible, how can this be?”

If we take this nativity story into us, the child becomes the possibility of an idea.  Mary, the mother, feels the love and enthusiasm for this possibility to come to fruition. Then Joseph, our righteous and intelligent thoughts come in and question everything.

The story goes on to say that Joseph was visited by an angel of the Lord in a dream.  What this says to us metaphysically is that once our thinking mind becomes still, usually when we are asleep, we are more available to hear and listen to voice of our Higher Self which is giving us this idea in the first place.

The best Christmas Present you could give yourself is to Realize this story is happening in us all the time. Ideas/desires/dreams surface in us. The question is can we get our feeling and thinking natures aligned so that they work together to bring into the world this gift, for it is of God.

How do we know it is of God and not the ego?  We know this when we feel the peace that passes all understanding. We know this is ours to do.  We are not focused on what others think of us but we are focused on the journey of bringing this idea we Love into the world.

This Saturday go to our You Tube channel and join Rev Janice Cary and Ministerial Intern Julia Baginski as they discuss the Principles found in Unity’s Advent Booklet, A Christmas to Remember.
