Ash Wednesday – Release and Reimagine

Ash Wednesday, the beginning of the Lenten Season. A powerful time of renewal.  A season of release.

Walking along the shores of Driftwood Beach in Jekyll  Island, Georgia., can lull you into letting go of the world and fall into the rhythm of life.

The driftwood is beautiful and the sandpipers remind us that as they run along the shore, they find all they need.  It was here that I heard within me the “Sandpiper Song”  we all sang for a year as our Lord’s Prayer. This song is about letting go, letting God and knowing that we are always taken care of.

The song goes: “Crashing waves, sandpipers run, finding in their wake, all they need to survive, leaving no trace behind.  There you wait in a state of grace, knowing  I’ll soon return.
My heart is open to you once again,  Wisdom rises, all is well.  The world turns, a cycle ends, as we all begin again.”

Sometimes when we are faced with challenges, we forget how much we have already been through and that we are still here, still living and loving, and joining together as a Spiritual family.

As we move through this Lenten Season, let us live cultivate our Faith by letting go of the things we no longer need; the resentments, the hurts, theLove. fear. Let them be washed away from us, leaving no trace behind.  Let us experience the wisdom that rises up in us as we are brought to the shore of

May you have a prayerful Lenten Season
