Dive Deep and Swim

When a beloved pet dies, there are those who from a compassionate heart understand and will sit with us acknowledging the pain of loss.  There are those who felt our pain from a distance and from a sympathetic heart send hugs and kisses emoji’s.  Then there are those who think “its only a pet” and the grief should be short lived.  For them the heartbreak is not something they are comfortable with and want to move on.

The Universe will bring us so much joy, as in welcoming a new born whether human, furry or feathery into our lives – I pray we can be awake to this joyful experience and not be distracted by the endless repetitive tasks of the day.

And just when all is going smoothly, the universe will trip you up with a sliver.

Most of us at one time or another have experienced a sliver, and even though they are superficial, they hurt and we search for tweezers to pull them out.  It’s the pulling out process that begins the healing.  Yet pulling it out is not always wise when it it comes to experiencing grief.  When we experience loss of any kind, we may want to be more like a life preserver rather than tweezers. Life preservers hold us up while we process the waves of loss.

Love demands that we allow our process.  Love asks us to not rush the process;  Love demands that we honor the process so that the loss can be transformed into healing stories and memories which shapes and changes us at depth.

When the disciples returned from a fishing trip which did not bring in many fish Jesus told them to go out into the deep and cast your nets on the right side of the boat.”  (John 21:6)

It doesn’t matter what life presents to us, we are to face it from a right thinking consciousness and our consciousness become “right” when we dive down deep into the sea of life and are fully present to help and support each other.
