Earth Day

Today is Earth Day, a day of honoring, celebrating and to remind us to care for our Mother Earth, Gaia.  The Earth Day celebration started in 1970 and was designed to be a national teaching-day about our environment.  The theme for 2025 focuses on renewable energy and is called Our Power, Our Planet.  Earth day is a reminder for us all to bring more awareness to our actions regarding our planet.

How did we loose sight of Mother Earth?

So many of our “modern day” ways, the chemicals in agriculture, toxins that spew out from factories into our air; the coal, oil and fracking industries, the plastics, the waste, the fumes.  Somewhere in our quest for modernity and ease we forgot we can never be separate from our Mother.  We are part of the earth and everything we do to our Mother Earth we do to ourselves.

Just as many see God as an entity outside ourselves, separate from us, transcendent, impersonal – we also have objectified and separated ourselves from Mother Earth, although the danger in doing so quickly becomes personal.

What we do to our Mother we do to her offspring.

Spirit may be able to hover over water, but if we are to walk on the green and gold fields and enjoy relationships we need our body temple and all of our senses for this journey.

When we live from the Christ ‘I Am’ consciousness, we see one another as a divine spiritual Presence,  yet we cannot forget that our Spirit, if it is to walk on this field of green, we must love and care for our body temple which houses our Spirit.

How we care for our body temple is in directly proportional to how we care for our Earth.  Our body temple and our earth are one and the same.

We are of One Body/One Spirit.
May we all Honor our Mother
