Election Day is Everyday ”
Winnie the Pooh and his friends/disciples are fantastic models of how to live a life that is filled with kindness, compassion and understanding. I have loved Winne and Friends for years but I admit mostly at a superficial level. Our children’s’ rooms were filled with depictions of Winnie but it was only later did I See and Hear the esoteric value in this philosophy.
Lets take a few quotes and apply them to our lives today, this election day.
“You can’t stay in your corner of the Forest waiting for others to come to you. You have to go to them sometimes.”
In other words, you can’t wait for things to happen. You cannot wait for someone to love, you must Be love first. You must appreciate yourself, your physical, emotional and spiritual aspects and once aligned you walk in the world allowing your Divine Light to shine “so others may see your good works and give glory to God in Heaven.” (Matthew 5:16) Aligned with your True Self, you give your time, talent and treasure to bring into physicality your dreams.
“Rivers know this. There is no hurry, we shall get there someday.”
One of the most frequent prayer requests is for “guidance.” Yet many of us don’t want to listen for guidance as we’ve already decided on the outcome we want. Guidance is not a spectacular act of God. Guidance can be heard when we listen for the Still small voice. That means we have to be still and know that “I Am” so we can hear this guidance. I recall in 2015 when I was hospitalized and I distinctly heard an inner voice tell me to “stop and let me heal you.” Meaning I must let go of the awful stories allowing healing to unfold. Healing would have unfolded even in the midst of those awful stories, because it its the nature of nature to heal, however we keep ourselves in a frustrated and fearful state when we don’t let go of limiting beliefs.
“I don’t feel very much like Pooh today,” said Pooh. “There, there,” said Piglet. “I’ll bring you tea and honey until you do.”
This is one of my favorite quotes of Pooh. Perhaps it is because I was brought up in an English household and they knew the importance of 3 pm Tea time. We are bound to be anxious at various times in our lives. However when those feelings arise, I invite you to ask yourself “Choose this Day whom you will serve.” We always have a choice to react or respond to circumstances and situations. When we allow ourselves to have a cup of tea and bite of something sweet it softens our edges and makes us calm. As Human Beings we must give ourselves time through out the day to stop, wait and connect with our Source.
The choice is not between God and Honey, the choice is Seeing that Honey is an expression of God.
That is the Choice for me.
