Forget-Me-Nots

They are like trees planted by streams of water, which yield their fruit in its season, and their leaves do not wither. In all that they do, they prosper. (Psalm 1:3)

I came across a packet of seeds that must have been given to me during Dave’s celebration of life service.  They were tucked into a sympathy card.  The seeds are Forget-me-Nots.

I decided to plant them in a pretty little pot and today I’m noticing their little buds are starting to poke through the soil.  I feel this is meaningful because when the struggle is over, we all look back and see that everything in our life from birth on, the parents we were born into, the kind of teachers we had, the kind of friends, the toys, the bikes, the joys we tried to hold onto and the burdens we wanted to avoid, all of it nurtures and fertilizes our Soul so that we do not forget we must let go.

This is meaningful to me because in the midst of challenges in our world, from the fires, wars, and even facing the every day irritations of toilets breaking down,  these Forget-Me-Nots remind us it is our nature to grow and flourish because we are Life expressing in this particular form.

This is true for the tiniest bud, the tiniest bird hoping from branch to branch, our pets lolling in the sun watching….

Forget-Me-Nots remind us of the True nature of life. Each Form has its own way of interacting with its environment.  What we must Not Forget is:
God is with us, in us.  The Bhagavad Gita says: “The Lord dwells in the heart of all creatures and whirls them around upon the wheel of maya.”

To let go and let God requires a leap of faith.  This is the message of ancient wisdom. This is the message of Unity; this is the Lesson of the Forget-Me-Nots.  Bloom where you are planted, but do not forget your true divine spiritual nature is God.

May we remember we are all in the midst of Self-Realization.
Bloom on,
Rev Janice
