From Heart ache to acceptance to rejoicing

“For Truly I tell you, if you have faith, the size of a mustard seed, you will tell this mountain, “Move from here to there, ‘and it will move.” (Matthew17:20)

Our lives are filled with so much joy, love and grace and we also seem to be overshadowed by struggle and heartache.  The loss of a loved one, a career or a beloved pet can shake our world.

Maya and Daya are Sanskrit terms and are core concepts of Indian philosophies. Ancient Truths align with our Unity Principles, as spiritual principles are Universal.  Our spiritual journey is to move from Maya to Daya, which means to be liberated from Maya, which is limited love for family/self into Daya, which is a more inclusive love and compassion for all beings.

Another way of saying this is releasing attachments to the illusion of form and into the awareness of that which animates the form.

Yet when something happens to one of the Forms we love, it shakes our world and we must be with the pain in the most authentic way possible.

I spent the first part of the 2026 visiting my son in Gainesville.  He’s moved into a cute little downtown apartment, not far from his job.  His home sold, for which I am grateful, but then his cat, Miss Kitty was frighted by the move and ran away.  Miss Kitty is a super adorable little cat, so we definitely mourned her absence.  But Steve held on to faith and put up signs around the area and kept walking the area with his flash light.

Two days later I got a text from him saying, Miss Kitty is home.  Apparently, she was found two doors down in a neighbors courtyard.
