There is nothing new to learn at Unity. There is, however, a lot to unlearn. Our structures of knowing, our concepts, our perceptions and yes, even our identity. What? Wait, what is left? What is left, under all of those thoughts and the feelings and emotions that accompany them, sometimes called, “the handmaidens of the Lord” is the ground of Being, the sacred, creative stillness from which all things are born into and to which all things return.
By entering into the stillness of Being and listening is like an artist standing before her pallet and awaiting inspiration or like a musician listening for an undercurrent of a song to be caught. This idea of God can be such an obstacle if we think of God as a person, a noun or a thing, when God is a name for the essence of Being or the essence of Love in which we live and move and have our Being. When we catch the awareness that it is not God in us, as it is God as us expressing. This, my friends brings an awareness of wholeness. Jesus, our way shower said it this way ” I and my Father are one” (John 10:30) And the glory that you have given me I have given them, so that they may be one. I in them and you in me, that they may becomne completely one, so that the world may know that you have sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.”
