I appreciated spending some hours yesterday watching as so many joined together to witness the Solar Eclipse. We watched from Oregon, Nebraska, South Carolina, Nashville all across our Nation. So many stopped to get a view, take a peek at the cosmic show that proved to many we live in an awe-inspiring Universe. I especially appreciated the remark made by one of the scientists, as he explained the corona, the diamond ring and the Baily’s Beads, he went on to say that “we are the universe becoming conscious of itself.”
The teachings of Unity, Eckart Tolle, Alan Watts and many other New Thought teachers are becoming mainstream. Alan Watts wrote “Through our eyes, the universe is perceiving itself. Through our ears, the universe is listening to its harmonies. We are the witnesses through which the universe becomes conscious of its glory, of its magnificence.”
What happens when we look up?
We are infused with power, with insight, with knowing, because for a moment we let go of our pettiness, our ideological differences and we become open to something more that we are, we become open to Spirit.
Jesus had brought before him a deaf man who had an impediment in his speech and they begged him to lay his hand on him. He took him away from the crowd and looking up to heaven, he groaned and said “Ephphatha,” that is, “Be opened.”
Another time Jesus said “In the world, you face persecution, but take courage; I have conquered the world.” Then he looked up to heaven and said “Father the hour has come; glorify your Son so that the Son may glorify you.” This is a path or pattern that we all can follow. To look up is to look beyond the appearance and see the magnificence and beauty – the Celestial Light of Spirit that lives us. In other words, see the spiritual grandeur of Being.
Look up, Be opened, Receive the healing which can only come to us through being a witness to the miracle of life and receiving the insight to let this miracle live us, move us; listen to it’s intelligence and wisdom; nurture the form that has been created from the molecules of the earth yet know this earthen vessel is sacred for it houses the invisible, ephemeral essence of life, that breaks open the seed and nurtures its growth.
The mystery of this force, this Life, this Spirit can be felt when we look up, for we are opening ourselves to a celestial experience and celestial experiences can bring moments of clarity that we are not only interconnected but in a blink of an eye we see we are each other.

Our Sunday, Sept. 3 topic is “How to Let God Help You.” I will be presenting Myrtle Fillmore’s transformation. On Sunday, Sept. 10, Rev. Johannys Jimenez-Hertog from Miami and I will present together the Five Basic Principles of Unity in message and song.
On Sept. 24 we will be offering a Unity Basics class at 11:30 covering the basic Unity principles. On Wed. October 4 and 11, I will be offering “Bringing Resilience into Life” at 7 pm.
