The 12 Days of Christmas
I was going through some photo albums and came across a newsletter that I had written when we used to hand out paper newsletters. It was dated back in 2005 when we had a celebration at our spiritual center of my ordination by Rev Scott Sherman. The back story is I was Licensed as a Unity Minister in 2004 while in seminary and Ordained in 2005, which for a while caused irritation in me. But the gift was my opportunity to work through the irritation and gain much wisdom from the interaction and friendship which ensued with my Mentor, Rev Nancy Norman.
As I reflect on the 20 years since, I am grateful at how understanding and wisdom deepens and changes our perception of how we see things. Even the most challenging of circumstances, such as the loss of a loved one, when we wait for wisdom to surface, she brings us through the grief and lands us on the shore of grace, grateful for the many years of love.
We released, on New Year’s Eve, in our Burning Bowl ceremony whatever story we think is holding us back; the outdated ideas are we carrying around that are no longer serving us?
Today we enter 2025, with the intention to Thrive. We are clear and open conduits for all the qualities of God. Let us come into this New Year free from craving and striving and let us put ourselves into an attitude of gratitude, which draws to us even more good than we can imagine.
This is Spiritual Principle, it is not in getting, but it is in giving that we receive and Thrive.
May we all have spiritual insight to see beneath the material and into the intuitive, into the Love that lives us.
We affirm: “Through the eyes of understanding I see the oneness of all things.”
We Thrive in ’25,
Rev Janice
As H Emilie Cady writes in Lessons in Truth “Understanding is a spiritual birth, a revelation of God within the human Soul.”
Spiritual understanding comes from knowing who we are. That is our main message. As Jesus, our way shower said to us in John 10:34 “Isn’t it written in your law, ‘I said ye are gods?”
