Prosperity, Abundance, Sufficiency

“Oh Man! There is no planet sun or star could hold you, if you but knew what you are.” (Emerson)

Prosperity, abundance, and sufficiency is a state of mind that absolutely knows that God is our Source.  It is the perfect mindset of balance.  A mindset that nevertheless is willing to hone and use all the gifts and talents that have been imbued in us.  And we give them to the world for all to benefit.

(No one lights a candle and puts it under a bushel, but on a candlestick.)  (Luke 11:33)

Likewise, to live a holistically, integrated life, we must follow the advice of  the late Rev Eric Butterworth who wrote: “Man is an inlet and may become an outlet to all there is in God.”   We want to put and keep ourselves in the flow so we must become outlets so to be open for to receive.

To be prosperous with money, not used consciously, does not fulfill your soul.
To have an abundance of talent, not used and given, is to let the gift wither away.
To be fulfilled is to live intentionally, aware it is the essence of God that infills and surrounds us.
Then all of our interactions become sacred.
One of Brother Lawrence’s jobs in the monastery was peeling potatoes. Every day, he peeled mounds of potatoes. Although this could be a monotonous job, Brother Lawrence adopted the specific attitude of peeling every potato as though he were peeling it for God. This helped him find purpose in even the most tiring aspects of his day.  This is an example of taking an every day task and using it as a doorway to having a mystical experience.

Once a person has experienced the Divine, they can never return to small thinking because living a prosperous life is a commitment to seeing the sacred in all creation.
Let us put ourselves in the Flow of Life by releasing our concerns, our judgments, our opinions and open the window of our mind allowing abundance to Flow through us, blessing everyone.
Blessings,
Rev Janice
