The Advent of Joy

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”(1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)

This chasing and getting everything you want that often drives humanity does not bring us the peace, love and joy that we seek.  The fruit of the Spirit is joy and that comes when we dedicate ourselves to entering into “Headquarters” as our co-founder Charles Fillmore writes and listen for the still small voice to guide us throughout the day.  To “wait on the Lord” is a journey of faith and the rewards are peace, love and joy.

I went to see the movie Hamnet. It was a beautiful film, a historical fiction, telling the story of how William Shakespeare channeled his immense grief over the loss of his son Hamnet from the Plague, and how this moved him to write the play Hamlet.  Agnes, his wife,  was a healer and she had a deep spiritual connection to her children and nature.  She had a prophecy of only having two children and did all she could to keep her three children safe.

Joy comes to us as we move through challenging times,  and as the mourning subsides, the dawn brings again the light so that we are able to see through the appearances of form, which could even be crystalized opinions, and into the nature of Reality which is love, faith, peace and joy.  These are the fruits of devotion to the invisible, Spiritual aspect of life.

The ego wants conflict and to be right; but wisdom teachings show us that through forgiveness and Practicing the Presence of God, we we discover who we are in the depth of our Being, which brings deep rooted joy.

Let us walk this path of Joy together as we celebrate the birth of the Light.
